Valley REC awards 25 $1,000 scholarships to local students for 2014

Valley Rural Electric Cooperative recently awarded 25 $1,000 scholarships for the 2014-15 academic year to high school seniors as well as students already enrolled in post-secondary institutions.

The co-op’s Brighter Future Scholarship Program was established in 2010 to assist eligible students who are cooperative members or their dependents. Selection criteria include academic achievement, financial need and community activities.

Valley REC members elect three incumbents at annual meeting

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The 284 voting members in attendance at Valley Rural Electric Cooperative’s 75th anniversary annual meeting Friday, April 11 reelected three incumbent directors to represent the utility’s nearly 22,000 consumers.

Valley REC to hold third annual golf tournament June 5

For the third year in a row, Valley Rural Electric Cooperative will host a benefit golf tournament. This year’s event will be held Thursday, June 5 (rain or shine) at the Iron Masters Country Club, 174 Cross Cove Road, Roaring Spring, PA. The outing will benefit two-year-old Brielle Harmon, who is fighting Leigh Syndrome. The toddler is the daughter of Matt and April Harmon.
