This summer, Valley Rural Electric Cooperative will join cooperatives from across the country in sponsoring high school students who have just completed their junior year to the Rural Electric Youth Tour in Washington, D.C. This all-expenses-paid trip for one week's stay in the nation's capital not only provides an opportunity to see the sights, it also gives participants an opportunity to meet their legislators and to learn more about our government and the cooperative way of doing business.
The year's Youth Tour is scheduled for June 15-20, 2026. Current high school juniors whose parents or legal guardians are members of Valley Rural Electric Cooperative are eligible and welcome to apply. Selection criteria include academic achievement, community involvement, employment, and interest in being part of this worthwhile experience.
The deadline for applications is February 13, 2026.
